Even though the stars have passed, that doesn't mean their earning potential is long gone. Many dead celebrities make more money in death, than they do in life.

Just because you have passed on doesn’t mean your estate still won’t be racking up the dollar signs.

From May to September we lost stars such as; Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, David Carradine and Patrick Swayze. Although these stars will no longer be able to make personal appearances, their estates will flourish with the sales of albums, movies, posters and other forms of memorabilia. By purchasing these items after their deaths if often allows fans to feel connector with the celebrity, even though they are gone.

Check out the entire story here at cnn.com, then go re-stock your M.J. collection!

We have seen this happen before. When celebrity artists, musicians or actors die, suddenly their previous works become much more valuable and sought after.

Michael Jackson had 3 of the top 5 selling albums in the U.S. for the second week in a row. ”Number Ones” sold an amazing 339,000, ”Thriller” sold 189,000 copies and ”The Essential Michael Jackson” sold 125,000 copies. ”Number Ones” would have been #1 on the Billboard Top 200 charts if it was eligible to compete. It sold a little more than twice as many copies as ”NOW 31”, which holds the #1 position on the Top 200. There is a great article on Yahoo.com here that breaks down the all the numbers.

It is sad that we as a culture don’t seem to appreciate what we have, until it is gone. Maybe this will be the time we take that lesson to heart.
