It’s official, if you believe in twitter…

Per Adam’s personal tweet, ”American Idol” just locked up the former runner-up and controversy king to perform this season. His tweet said; ”Yes, I have been booked on Idol! Can’t reveal the date yet, but it’s a ways off…”.

Adam’s debut album sold more than any of the other finalists on ”Idol” last year, so we expect BIG ratings when he makes his guest appearance.

Adam Lambert on the rise

He may have finished in 2nd place on the 8th season of ”American Idol”, but that isn’t slowing down Adam Lambert’s career.

Reports from Amazon.com are that fans are pre-ordering his unreleased CD at a staggering rate. There are so many pre-orders for the album people are saying it will open up at number one on the charts when it debuts on November 24th. It is reportedly outselling Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and Susan Boyle.

It will be interesting to see if this is just the ”American Idol” followers that are going ga-ga for Adam, or if this album will be a legitimate hit. I guess we’ll have to wait until Thanksgiving to find out.

Paula Abdul vs. Ellen DeGeneres – Round 1

In what is sure to be a more amusing than funny battle between an over-medicated former pop star and an over-the-hill comedian, Paula Abdul has taken the first shot at Ellen DeGeneres.

While hosting VH1’s ”Divas Live” Paula dressed up like Ellen, blond wig and all, and pranced around the stage mocking her…um…unique dancing skills. She then sat at a chair and of a set and mimicked the day-time talk show host. ”Why are you all staring at me? Can’t a girl try out for a new job”? Abdul said. Afterward Paula said is was in good fun and wished Ellen the best. Sure she does.

It will be interesting to see if Ellen will try and escalate this, or if she will just let it go away. Stay tuned…

Paula Abdul quits ”Idol”, via Twitter?

In another strange twist to the ”American Idol” judge tug-of-war Paula Abdul announced late Tuesday evening that she will not be returning to the show.

Did she meet with the producers? No. Did she do an interview with Oprah and announce it there? No. So, how do you inform the world you will be quitting one of the top rated reality shows? On your official Twitter page…of course!

Several high-ranking producers of the show were ‘’shocked” when they heard the news. Abdul had also just recently received the ultra important vote of confidence from Simon himself. Simon was quoted as saying Paula will definitely be back on the show for the next season. Check out the story here at cnn.com

It remains to be seen if they are going to try and get Paula back, add another judge to the show or just keep the three remaining judges. I guess we will have to wait for the dust to settle to find out.

…Kris Allen?
Yes America, you voted, and it was a surprise. The majority of ”experts” and pundits said Adam Lambert was a lock to win this years title of American Idol. With the perfect tones and the wide range of vocals he couldn’t be beaten. Well, they were wrong. With more than 100,000,000 votes cast Kris got the win.

It was a star studded night again for the season finale of ”American Idol”. With bands like Queen and Carrie Underwood gracing the stage, it couldn’t have gotten much bigger.

With one more season under their belt it will be interesting to see what they do next year to try and top this one.

Another Idol Bites the Dust

Last night was another elimination night on the uber-hit ”American Idol”.

The red-haired Allison Iraheta received the fewest votes from America, and was voted off last night. She had been under constant ridicule from the shows most vocal judge, Simon Cowell. She left the show rocking out to Janis Joplin’s ”Cry Baby” and seemed to take the early exit in stride.We are now down to 3 potential idols left; Kris Allen, Danny Gokey and Adam Lambert. The next Idol will be officially crowned on May 20th, so stay tuned!
