No, this wasn’t a real category at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. But if it was, we ALL know who would have won this award, hands down.
If you’ve been lost in a cave over the last 24 hours and haven’t heard, when Taylor Swift was beginning her speech for winning the Best Female Video Award Kanye decided it was his time to shine. He stormed the stage, grabbed the microphone from her and said that Beyonce should have won the award. That’s quite a man that can try and upstage a young girls time in the spotlight. The crowd reacted with a resounding boo’s and continued to boo Kanye every time his name was mentioned. Little did Kayne know, it wasn’t only backlash from the crowd that he will be facing.
Many musicans and celebrities jumped on thier Facebook, MySpace and Twitter accounts to bad-mouth the rapper right after the incident. He has been taking heat from the likes of Pink, Katy Perry, Joel Madden and many others since the incident last night.
Beyonce ended up winning for Video of the Year and asked Taylor to come up and give her speech since she was interrupted by Kanye. It was one of the classiest things we have seen done at the VMA’s in a long time.
So, our hats off to Beyonce and thumbs down to Kanye.
